6 Months potential for extension - $31.81/Hour + Super - Heights competency certificate & Drivers license (Desirable) **Job Title**: Building Services Officer (BSO) **Start Date**: ASAP - Pending cleared Police Check **Duration**: 6 Months potential for extension **Pay Rate**: $31.81/Hour + Super **Location**: Fremantle Drive, Stirling ACT 2611 Onsite Requirements: Onsite The Building Services Officer (BSO) assists the Centre Manager in the management of the Education Support Office sites across the ACT. The BSO undertakes a range of manual and technical tasks. These include maintenance and operation of the facility, liaison with contractors and staff, setting up meeting and conference rooms and deliveries of essential equipment to schools. The Centre Management operates in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment and the BSO will need to be flexible and able to respond to issues as they arise, often within tight timelines. The role requires a self-motivated, detail-orientated person with strong people skills, effective time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines. A background in, or understanding of, facilities management would be an advantage in this role. **What you will do**: The BSO will: - Liaise and actively participate with other sections of the Directorate and external contractors, in the maintenance and operation of HBCTL, including cleaning, repairs and maintenance, stationery supplies, recycling, asset checking and other administrative support as directed. - Work in a team environment to provide high-quality customer service within flexible working arrangements. - Assist as required to oversee site security to ensure the integrity of security systems. - Undertake tasks associated with setting up meetings and conference rooms. This includes lifting and re-positioning furniture and setting up tables and screens in various configurations in high-use meeting rooms. - Assist with the provision of information technology (IT) and audio-visual (AV) equipment set-ups in the training and meeting rooms. Liaise with IT technicians who support HBCTL. - Operate Directorate vehicles to undertake deliveries of items to schools on an as-required basis. **What you require**: - Ability to oversee and liaise with contractors undertaking site repairs and maintenance at HBCTL. - An understanding and appreciation of facilities management and operational functions in an occupied building. **Mandatory Requirements** - As the position involves the shifting of furniture, a good level of physical fitness is essential. - A current “C” class Drivers license is (Desirable) - Current First Aid Certificate, or the ability and willingness to gain one. - Working at **Heights competency certificate **or the ability and willingness to gain one. **If this sounds like you, APPLY NOW** Applications received after the due date may be considered for similar roles.
