About the job

We have a unique opportunity for a suitably qualified Real Estate and Land Specialist to join us on a permanent basis in this rewarding role that provides lease and facilities management and negotiation expertise to a variety of Alcoa’s Western Australian sites and properties with the priority to protect our business and the surrounding communities of where we operate.

One of the key facilities you will be responsible for managing whilst also being primarily based at the premises includes Alcoa’s Australian corporate offices in Booragoon, along with Alcoa’s Kwinana, Pinjarra, and Mining properties. Your response to certain building or land emergencies outside of usual business hours may be required at all of these locations.

As the first point of contact on acquisitions, disposals and leasing services to our operations and their communities, your core activities and contributions will include:
- Maintaining positive relations with landowners, agents, various community stakeholders, surrounding neighbours and government bodies- Leading ongoing projects to continuously achieve competitive costs and quality service levels in the execution of real estate purchases, renewals, leases and sales for residential and commercial properties in urban and rural locations- Advising on compliance to land management strategies and policies, property valuation and market analysis- Reviewing and approving payments of monthly lease invoices, annual rates and taxes and where required managing annual budgets- Actioning all maintenance requirements for Booragoon office and completing any ongoing refurbishment- Understanding of property zonings and providing recommendations of impact of changes- Leadership of land related issues on behalf of the locations requiring an in-depth appreciation of community and environmental aspects.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Broad project exposure across Industrial and Commercial Real Estate with a strong understanding of Real Estate and Law terms and agreements.- Real Estate, Property Management or Property Valuation accreditation or professional certification and/or previous experience in the Mining and Resources sector is highly desirable.- Experienced in managing a large portfolio of real estate, landlords, tenants, government agencies, maintenance personnel and contractors- Strong communication and negotiation skills for real estate deals with the ability to execute major property transactions.- Ability to provide consultancy/expert services to senior management groups.- Competent in balancing multiple priorities and managing feedback and building positive relationships with various stakeholders
