**THE ROLE**

The Deputy Secretary, South Division provides leadership and oversees human service area based service delivery in the southern part of Victoria. The role is responsible for ensuring that the Division's priorities align with the strategic direction of the department.

Through planning, monitoring and best practice, the Deputy Secretary will drive a client-centred, high performance culture to achieve positive client outcomes and deliver quality services to vulnerable Victorians.

The Deputy Secretary is accountable for service delivery in the Outer Gippsland, Inner Gippsland, Southern Melbourne and Bayside Peninsula Areas.

The Deputy Secretary South Division is a member of the Departments Executive Board.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Lead and motivate a large workforce to ensure a client-centred culture aligned to the department's vision and broader government objectives.
- Lead the effective client-centred delivery of services within the Division, including child protection, housing and related health and wellbeing programs, to ensure performance and statutory requirements are met and future service delivery requirements are managed.
- Contribute to driving innovation and implementation within the Division of service development and reform designed to meet the changing needs of clients in a practical and responsive way and which increases the social and economic participation of complex client groups.
