**Position Overview**
The Administrative and Events Officer position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Secretariat of the AAL, including the events and general administration of the Academy.

**Duties**
- Assist with arranging AAL events and activities, including prizes and scholarships; prepare flyers; attend to detailed organisation; liaise with AAT President, Board members and the Fellows responsible for organising particular AAL events.
- Arrange video streaming, recording of events, catering and attend events (online or in person).
- Keep the AAL’s website up to date.
- Attend to publication and promotion of events and activities on the AAL website as well as publication of the annual report, collections of essays and other publications and relevant correspondence.
- Prepare agendas, Minutes and attend AAL Committee meetings.
- Liaise with FCA Finance to ensure payment of invoices and Secretariat expenses; liaise with AAL Treasurer to prepare monthly financial records; payment of invoices, provision of receipts; notification of annual subscriptions.
- Maintain electronic records of the AAL including monitoring and support for the membership committee by attending to amendment of membership records and provision of Certificates of Fellowship.
- Ensure compliance with government bodies such as ACNC, ASIC and the ATO.

**Selection Criteria**
- Excellent communication and administrative skills, including strong oral, written and interpersonal skills, tact and discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality, and realise program expectations across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage different expectations, competing demands and priorities within agreed timeframes.
- The ability to work independently with limited direction while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and productivity.
- Initiative and able to take responsibility for achieving a wide range of work outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to workplace diversity and workplace health and safety practices and procedures.

**Other Requirements**
Relevant experience and qualifications in administration, events management, or experience or qualifications in IT would be well regarded. Some familiarity with courts or legal institutions would also be useful.
