Joining EPA's Permissioning and Development Branch is an exciting opportunity. Reporting to the Manager Permissioning, Permits, the team leader will manage a team responsible for implementing EPA’s Permissioning framework.

As part of your role, you'll be accountable for managing permits, waste designations and accredited consigner appointments in accordance with the Environment Protection Act 2017.

**Duties**:
To be successful in this role you will be required to (not limited to):

- Lead and manage a team through organisation change with a dedication to fostering a positive work culture and the development of staff.
- Represent the EPA positively in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Assign the allocation of resources, budgets, business, and project planning, and reporting to officers for managing.
- Assist in the ongoing enhancement of EPA's Permissioning function by reviewing and updating Permissioning processes, policies, and procedures. Develop learning and development materials and provide analysis and reporting on performance to support continuous improvement.
- Complete administrative tasks and follow directives to achieve regulatory goals. Adhere to all applicable government and EPA policies and procedures, including financial management, occupational health and safety, and conduct standards.

**Skills and experience**:

- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post-graduate qualifications (desirable).
- Previous experience in regulatory work within the local government sector (desirable).
- Demonstrated capabilities in leading people through change whilst maintaining a positive culture and high performance.
- Ability to think creatively, be open to new experiences, and possess a genuine eagerness to learn, share knowledge, and create positive change.
- Having the skill to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, especially when conflicts arise, is crucial.
- Proven ability to work as an effective member, dedicated to achieving the organisation's priorities.
