The Opportunity
The ODDG ISD consults and engages with various levels of the department, including the Minister's Office, and other key stakeholders and partners to achieve the government's objectives for the community. The ODDG facilitates the division's strategic and operational planning and reporting requirements and proactively manages intergovernmental relations and Cabinet and parliamentary requests.
As the Director, ODDG ISD, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and undertaking the following key tasks:
Lead and manage strategic advice in relation to executive processes and documentation required to ensure the division's strategic direction and goals are met, including provision of advice and assistance to the division's management team, and management and leadership of staff within the ODDG, ISD.
Lead and coordinate the provision of strategic information and advice to the Executive Director, DDG, and other senior officers of the division and department.
Prepare and have oversight of high-level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence on complex issues related to financial, human resources, information and technologies, procurement and infrastructure services across the department.
Respond to and coordinate responses to complex and sensitive issues from the Office of the Minister, Director-General and other high-level areas.
Provide high level support and advice to the ODDG in relation to projects across the division.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures in relation to communication, governance arrangements, research and projects.
Foster collaborative relationships across the department and with stakeholders in other government agencies and external organisations.
Manage, coordinate and undertake high level research and analysis activities to support business priorities and the provision of advice to the ODDG.
Lead, manage and develop a team of professional staff to deliver outcomes consistent with organisational directives.
Establish internal and external networks and liaise with senior officers and representatives in a range of government and non-government agencies for the development and identification of implications of initiatives.

Knowledge of contemporary infrastructure service functions within a large and complex organisation is beneficial.

You will work with a sense of urgency, in a professional and enthusiastic manner, with a positive participative attitude to achieve Department's goals & objectives.
