**The opportunity**:
Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. As Australia’s leading recycled and kraft paper manufacturer, Visy Pulp and Paper is a big part of our business. Our integrated recycling and manufacturing operations means we collect paper and cardboard from households and businesses and turn it into up to 100% recycled paper.
We are currently recruiting Forklift Operators to join our Recycling Plastics team based in Somerton, Melbourne. These are permanent full-time roles, working Monday to Friday on our day shift (6am to 2pm). As a Forklift Driver you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to transport materials, manage inventory, and support production processes. Reporting to the shift supervisor, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Operate in accordance with site safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Completing job safety prechecks of the forklift before operation.
- Operate forklifts to move, load and unload materials within the plant, including transporting the recycled bail stock and production material as needed.
- Maintain a daily production logbook and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
**What you will bring to the team**:
As our new forklift driver, you will be a problem solver who is a team player with a strong work ethic. You will be committed to working safely and engaging with all safety processes and procedures, along with the following:
- A current valid Forklift licence is essential.
- Experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehousing or manufacturing environment.
- A good level of physical fitness as there may be some manual handling involved.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Good communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
