About the role

The Partnerships & Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving fundraising and development efforts to support the continued growth and reach of The One Box. The role is responsible for cultivating and managing high-value relationships with philanthropic funders, corporate partners, and grant makers, as well as identifying new strategic opportunities aligned with the organisation’s mission and model.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising
- Develop and implement a partnerships and fundraising strategy aligned with The One Box’s Strategic Plan and growth priorities
- Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with philanthropic foundations, government agencies and corporate partners
- Design and deliver tailored proposals, EOIs, and pitch decks to secure new funding opportunities
- Prepare and manage partnership agreements and ensure delivery of recognition benefits and reporting commitments

Grants & Philanthropy
- Identify, research and prioritise relevant grant and funding opportunities
- Assist with the development of grant submissions, including writing compelling responses and compiling support material
- Steward current funders through impact-driven reporting and regular engagement touchpoints

Stakeholder Engagement & Stewardship
- Develop thoughtful donor and partner stewardship plans
- Coordinate strategic communications, updates and invitations for key supporters
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team on campaign messaging, supporter communications, and annual reports

Organisational Development
- Work with internal teams to understand program delivery needs and impact
- Maintain CRM records and track engagement and reporting cycles
- Contribute to organisational planning and represent The One Box at relevant external meetings, events and forums

What is in your Toolkit?

You are a purpose-driven professional with strong experience in partnerships, fundraising, development or philanthropic engagement, ideally in the social impact, community, or not-for-profit sector. You’re a strategic thinker and persuasive communicator with a track record of securing funding and nurturing meaningful relationships. You will bring:

- At least 5 - 8 years’ experience in a sales, marketing, strategic partnerships, development or fundraising role
- Passionate about building strong partnerships, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong written communication and proposal writing ability
- Demonstrated success in securing philanthropic and/or government funding
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of Australia’s philanthropic landscape, including key funders, foundations and grant making processes
- Aligning with the mission and values of The One Box
- Experience working in or with food relief, community engagement, social enterprise or education sectors will be highly regarded.
- Analytical, with the ability to research and evaluate opportunities.
