**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure work is completed to the satisfaction of customers and all targets including productivity, quality and safety are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, crew and supervisors.
- Direct staff at a worksite on or near the track to ensure compliance with enterprise's safety system.
- Manage an allocated worksite proactively and autonomously to ensure safety and environmental incidents do not occur.
- Promote and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management systems are implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure that people and property working near or on track are protected from rail hazards.
- Understanding of client rail network rules in terms of risks and hazards associated with working within the rail network.
- Determine authority and protection methods required for rail vehicle movements at every worksite.
- Liaise with project management daily, to plan safe working/protection to ensure projects can be carried out on time/budget.
- Complete Safe Working Documentation as required by client.
- Constant verifiable patrolling and electronic reporting of log entries, incident and hazard reports.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in similar role.
- Previous experience as a Protection Officer working in the rail industry.
- Drivers Licence.
- RISI.
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise's track side safety standards.
- Substantial knowledge of operational procedures including train notices & isolation protection procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction activities and their potential impact upon an operating rail environment.
- Ability to pass a Medical and Drug + Alcohol Screening.
