**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Officer in the Plastics Compliance team, responsible for implementing key compliance actions from the NSW Plastics Action Plan and associated legislation. In this role you will:

- Work in a team of officers responding to community reports, assisting businesses and stakeholders to comply with their obligations and transition from single-use plastics to sustainable alternatives.
- Assist in compliance inspections and investigations, and work in a team to play a key role in delivering actions from relevant legislation.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to embed understanding of the legislation and the role of regulatory compliance.
- Use the innovative set of regulatory tools set out by the EPA to engage with varied stakeholders

- strong and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with stakeholders and other team members to solve issues.
- an ability to use a range of techniques to encourage compliance, including behaviour change, engagement, and education and,
- a passion for achieving good environmental outcomes

**About the Team**

The Plastics Team sits within the Engagement, Education and Programs Division. The EEP division drives change through influencing, engaging, educating and enabling in order to protect and enhance the environment for future generations.

We work with stakeholders across government, industry, the community and First Nations and focus on delivering:

- Programmatic responses to waste and environmental health hazards
- Delivery of circular economy initiatives
- Customer administrative and licensing services
- Community and licensee engagement
