About the Role

Programmed Rail is seeking UGLRL-qualified Protection Officers Level 4 (PO4) / Principal Protection Officers (PPO) to support upcoming rail possessions and infrastructure projects across New South Wales.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of all work groups by planning and implementing high-level protection arrangements in a live rail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and manage complex protection arrangements in accordance with UGLRL network rules and procedures.
  • Obtain and manage worksite protection authorities (e.g. TOA, LPA, ASB) and liaise with Network Controllers and site supervisors.
  • Lead and mentor other Protection Officers to ensure strict compliance with safeworking standards.
  • Complete and submit all required Worksite Protection Plans, safety documentation and close-out reports.
  • Promote a strong, proactive safety culture across all worksites.

About You

  • Current UGLRL Protection Officer Level 4 / PPO qualification (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in safeworking and rail possession management.
  • RIW card and RISI card (or ability to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work day, night, weekend, and extended possession shifts.
