Opal Packaging Plus is an industry-leading packaging and consumables business that has been delivering packaging solutions to Australian businesses for more than 40 years. We have a new opportunity to join our Sydney branch in Pemulwuy, NSW as our Regional Procurement Specialist.

This is a people leader role with one direct report where you will be responsible for optimising the supply chain activities of the Pemulwuy branch. The key aspects of this role are purchasing and inventory management, strategic sourcing and commercial analysis, warehousing and logistics processes and vendor management.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Ensuring inventory levels are within budget and matched to forward demand
- Coordinating demand forecasting process to optimise purchasing
- Working closely with the Operations Manager, Sales Managers and warehouse team to ensure stock deliveries are well-timed to ensure smooth operation of logistics and despatch operations
- Ensuring that inventory levels are maintained with regards to customer requirements and warehouse capacity
- Leveraging supplier relationships to source products as required and manage price negotiations

For this role, we expect you will have
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or logistics
- Previous experience in a procurement or global supply chain role
- Proficiency in SAP or any other ERP system
- Strategic thinking, be results driven, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Well-developed commercial acumen and continuous business improvement focus
- Sound communication skills with ability to collaborate successfully cross functionally
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
