Australia Retail is becoming a much more digital, automated and lower cost organisation and has invested heavily in creating our new Digital Bank ANZPlus. With nearly half a million customers on PLUS the Customer Migration Program will super-charge the migration of ~6mil customers to ANZ Plus.

As the Governance Delivery Lead - Migration you will support the GM Customer Migration and Migration Program Delivery Lead with governance, scheduling and delivery of highly complex changes incrementally, which requires significant, coordinated work across Products, Technology, Servicing, Migration Comms, Employee Comms, Legal, Data, Finance, and Risk, in our legacy Retail business and in ANZx

The Governance Delivery Lead is responsible for enabling delivery of a major program/project by managing a delivery support office to ensure alignment of standards and compliance of the program/project with agreed governance, policies and processes; manage tracking of costs and benefits and support for the end-to-end delivery of the program/project encompassing line management of direct reports.

You’ll work closely with Stream Leads to develop plans, establish a governance cadence, manage risks, interdependencies, reporting, budgets and schedule, and work tirelessly to remove blockers to migration. You’ll alert the Program to slippages and have your eye on the critical path, providing reporting and paths to green for our senior stakeholders.

While the role is aligned to governance, your mandate is to outcomes. To this end, you’ll be deeply engaged with delivery partners to improve delivery in additional to ensuring delivery governance/PMO requirements are met. You will additionally be embellishing and improving program governance assisting with identifying and tracking key milestones ad dependencies, investment funding, risks/issues, and bringing together the multiple streams of the program into one well led delivery vehicle.

Role Accountabilities

You are also expected to balance the principles of Agile delivery with the waterfall nature of a large multi-year Program with complex moving parts. The role will also oversee resourcing, demand management, PPM reporting and investment health. The role works closely with the PMO coordinator to coordinate IMDO checkpoints requirements as well as enable Streams Leads to manage risks/issues/dependency management effectively and to meet ANZ Delivery Framework (ADF) standards.

Provide Program/milestones tracking, investment oversight, actuals vs forecast, governance advice and support to the Migration PMO Lead and Workstream Leads to meet delivery objectives

Manage the program estimates and financials complete fiancé reporting and analysis and funding submissions

Manage workstream funding and resourcing requests against plan and ensure budgets are met

Run delivery risks meeting and adhere to risk management guidelines and ensure treatments are updated, tracked and closed out on time.

Update, track, collate artefacts for Change Risk Materiality Assessment/s for the Program and its sub-streams

Facilitate cross stream workshops and gain input from stakeholders to update dependencies, milestones status, root causes for delays and document path-to-green.

Support the scheduler to maintain baselined plan and track/highlight deviations


Proactively Identify trends or potential slippages and report these to the Leadership Team

Proactively Identify gaps and opportunities to improve reporting governance and investment management

Driving continuous improvement by coaching them through iteration and test and learn cycles

Problem solving and clearing obstacles

Supporting the Stream leads and Product Owners with breaking down the work - decomposition of goals and maintaining an effective cadence

Ensuring they live agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices that they agreed they would use, and helping the squad continuously reflect on their stated purpose and objectives

Working with other Scrum Masters to support the effective adoption of agile practices

Fostering a safe and trusting environment where conflicts can be navigated in a healthy way and a ‘speak up’ culture is celebrated

Embedding strong foundations in agile and lean principles, with working experience across methodologies including Scrum, Kanban and design thinking and HCD.

Ensuring the program is customer-focused to the core - looking for sustainable solutions that protect customers, stakeholders and the community
