The Principal Analyst role is focussing on Health Service improvement and capability analytics including revenue optimisation analysis. The Principal Analyst role will ensure complex data sets are combined, concise, analysed, and presented effectively.
Leading a small team focussed on the analytical and workflow components of improvement and capability the team will provide valuable deep dives into Health Service financial and activity data to inform improvement and capability initiatives including revenue optimisation. The role will also ensure the units financial improvement targets agreed with government can be reported and acquitted.
This position is pivotal in a specialist unit dedicated to driving financial improvement and capability across Victoria's health services. Principal Analyst, Health Service Financial Improvement and Capability reports directly to the Director, Financial Improvement & Capability.

**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
Qualifications - A bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Health Administration, Data Science, or a related field
A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health system funding, relevant departmental systems and environments is desirable
Specialist Expertise - Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting to analyse funding scenarios and revenue streams.
Deep understanding of funding frameworks, revenue cycle management, and cost optimisation in the healthcare context.
Proficiency in using analytics and metrics to inform and guide strategic decisions.
Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context.
Knowledge of the Victorian public hospital operations, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations.
