What the role is all about

As the Broker Monitoring Manager, you will report into the Senior Broker Monitoring & Advice Manager and manage the Compliance Monitoring program across Mortgage Choice. You will also work closely with the broader Broker Monitoring & Advice team to understand and share the findings of the review program and formulate and deliver appropriate insights to the Broker Advice Manager / Consultants for remediation and / or strategies to uplift the compliance and quality of our Credit Representatives.

The focus will be to continually improve, develop and evolve so that the business and combined broker group delivers the highest quality of advice to support customers through their property journey. You will work with the operations and risk teams to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are maintained and you will identify improvement opportunities. You will work closely with the Broker Advice Manager, Lending Services and the Credit Coaches for the ongoing uplift of the standard of lending, broker file quality and training to the network.

While no two days are likely to be the same, typical responsibilities will include:
- Develop and deliver Risk Based Monitoring Program to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, primarily NCCP Act including Best Interest Duty, Corporations Act, Privacy Act, Competition and Consumer Act- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and recommend a risk based approach for regulatory compliance framework- Identify and develop Communication and Training strategies for key operational changes to process and or policies in support of recommended framework.- Liaise with industry and government bodies on industry regulation- Monitor compliance with MFAA membership requirements and standards.- Monitor compliance with external dispute resolution authority membership requirements and standards.- Maintain and improve cyclical reporting across compliance breaches, risk insights, productivity, SLAs and risk registers- Foster a continuous improvement culture within the team to drive efficiencies and improve broker experience- Support the broking network in the delivery of high quality service to consumers in respect of lending, loan quality to lenders, regulatory compliance, franchise operating system compliance, customer disputes and complaints- Provide Leadership, SME advice and support to the Franchise network on Regulatory updates, industry insights, and ongoing education and compliance support

Who we’re looking for- Extensive regulatory compliance experience specifically in Financial Services (residential lending and mortgage broking environments)- Minimum Tertiary qualifications (or in progress) in a related business discipline, or Certificate IV or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking and extensive experience in monitoring and training of representatives under an Australian Credit Licence and/or Australian Financial Services License- Working knowledge of the legislative regimes that underpin mortgage broking and the provision of credit advice- Experience in leading large scale Regulatory requests, Fraud Investigations and external Lender / Consultancy requests.- Ability to translate Regulatory requirements into practice and process, as well as ensure these are able to be understood at all levels- Well-developed leadership, coaching and facilitating capabilities demonstrated in previous roles- A great communicator - with the ability to present to large groups at events such as PD days- Solution-oriented.
