**About the Position**

This role, working within an established Quality system, will be responsible for leading and improving Quality Assurance activities within the Austal business, and where necessary, report, investigate and resolve any identified non-conformance. This busy role will also support the Operations Teams to deliver business Quality Assurance requirements, as well as assisting the business Quality Assurance Manager and the team of Quality Advisors in the day-to-day activities to ensure optimum functionality of the Q Management System.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensuring ongoing Quality Assurance activities are conducted to a high standard in line with business requirements and are reported in a timely manner.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections in accordance with the Austal procedure and schedule.
- Conduct root cause analysis of Quality issues. Recommend and implement Corrective Actions to address Quality issues.
- To validate and verify Quality Assurance activities identified in Inspection Test Plans.
- Work together with Stakeholders to implement Austal’s Quality Assurance system requirements.
- Conduct Quality Assurance review of business process documentation prior to its release.
- Undertake analysis of Quality Assurance compliance data.
- Develop and issue Quality Assurance documentation to a high standard.
- Maintain and continually improve business best practice for Quality Assurance.
- Implement integrated and cost-effective team solutions for Quality non-conformance issues; including where required leading Corrective and Preventative action management.
- Build and maintain productive professional relationships with the teams delivering Quality products or services to clients.

**Skills and Experience**
- Essential _
- An auditing qualification - Lead Auditor preferably.
- Demonstrated experience of monitoring and progressing Inspection Test Plans.
- Possess a proficient level of IT literacy, including the MS Office Suite (SharePoint & Excel etc).
- Solutions orientated, as well as results and goals driven, with an excellent attention to detail.
- Be strategic, analytical, and innovative, with solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly understand business processes across the business.
- A passion to work to improve Quality across the business.
- A confident, people-person with strong and highly effective verbal & written communication skills, and the ability to produce quality and succinct correspondence & reports
- Be a service orientated team-player with a “can do” attitude with demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong working-relationships with internal & external stakeholders alike
- Desirable_
- A Diploma or equivalent certification in Quality Assurance, Lean Management, Engineering or Project Management.
- Previous or related experience working within a Project focussed manufacturing environment with a demonstrated and strong desire to work within Quality Assurance.
