**Position Information**:
Penrith Selective High School is a fully academically selective high school with a coeducational enrolment of 936 students, including 88% of students from a non-English speaking background. The school has a strong commitment to differentiated teaching and learning to meet the needs of highly gifted learners in addition to supporting students and their wellbeing across all domains of giftedness.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Capacity to develop a clear vision for the future of the Science key learning area which includes enrichment opportunities within a selective high school setting
- Highly developed leadership skills with the demonstrated capacity to build a culture of collaboration whilst developing and leading staff at various career stages
- Proven capacity to lead the Science faculty in implementing innovative, high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs through curriculum review and implementation alongside resource development and assessment practices which meet the needs of all students
- Proven capacity to build positive relationships with students and the broader community to create a supportive, high challenge learning environment that meets the needs of high potential and gifted learners
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
