**Opportunity snapshot**:
An exciting, permanent opportunity has become available for a Front-End Lead role

The Front-End Lead will be working on a Knowledge Management system, together with an AI-powered knowledge-finding system for supporting agents in messaging channels, with the intention of automating with AI enabled bots that can help customers with tasks that don’t need to be actioned by a person.

This role will be contributing to the analysis and technical design activities while also contributing to coding, unit testing and implementation of highly maintainable and scalable solution as a senior developer.

An individual at the Lead Developer level is accountable for their own performance and the people reporting to them and contributes to team performance as well.

**How will I help?**
- Provide Front End technical leadership and work with other technical leaders to set best practices and processes.

Will be responsible for website maintenance and enhancements.

Will assist other developers in coding and troubleshooting.
- Review business requirements relevant to your team and provide technical solutions and estimates to your stakeholders who may be Delivery Managers, Product Owners and Portfolio team members.
- Develop high quality solution that leverage existing Bupa code libraries, patterns, and architectural techniques where they exist.
- Participate in Architectural and Designs, to extend and improve existing code libraries using industry standard best practices.
- Responsible for staying up to date on emerging technologies and promoting usability best practices.
- Participate in identifying process, quality, and system improvements, continuously learn new techniques, methodologies, and technologies, look for and initiate improvement initiatives and implement these via getting approval from management.
- Planning, organising, and working collaboratively with Portfolio and Delivery to correctly size and estimate upcoming work.
- Proactively make suggestions that will improve the technical and team outcomes, especially around front-end technologies; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive.
- Collaborative work over multiple teams to help influence positive outcomes with team members, content authors, customers, vendors, and wider Bupa staff

**What do I need?**

Qualifications

o A tertiary qualification in IT or an equivalent level of work experience.

o At least 5 years’ experience using modern JS frameworks

Experience

A proficient understanding of latest web mark-ups including HTML5, CSS3.

A proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS/SCSS

A proficient understanding and working experience in advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS, ReactJS, etc.

A proficient understanding and working experience with Node JS and other server-side JavaScript libraries

A proficient understanding of asynchronous request handling and API handling/integration

A proficient understanding server-side rendering

Proficient understanding and working experience of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them using tools like Browserstack

Proficient understanding and working experience of code versioning tools like Git.

Proficient understanding and working experience of Accessibility standards such AAA, AA etc, and know-how of browser tools and extensions/plugins

Proficient understanding and working experience with Responsive design

Working Experience with debugging tools such as React developer tools

Good understanding and working experience with noSQL database such as Cosmos DB and Mongo

Knowledge and experience with bundling tools such NPM, yarn, and packaging tools such as webpack, Gulp, etc

Proficient understanding and working experience with Typescript

**Bonus**

Good understanding of Material UI and Material Design Systems is advantageous

Basic knowledge with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure is advantageous.

Experience with solution design tools like Lucid Chart is advantageous

Experience with Content Management Systems such as Sitecore is advantageous.

Good understanding of SEO is advantageous.

Experience with Google Dialog flow, and any other Bot based AI engine/NLP is advantageous

Good understanding of cloud services such Azure and Google cloud is advantageous

Experience with chats messaging systems such as Live Person in particular is advantageous

Good understanding of build and release pipelines is advantageous

Good understanding and/or work experience of NextJS is advantageous

Having experience with Sitecore and/or Sitecore Headless/Sitecore JSS etc
