**About the Opportunity?**

At Connecting Families, we support young people requiring emergency and short-term accommodation, and In Home care. We are seeking dedicated and passionate youth workers who can help us create an environment where the young people feel safe, respected, and valued.

**What does the role look like day-to-day**:

- Assisting with daily routines including morning and evening, personal care (including medication), meals, chores, homework, and activities. You will also be required to ensure that the placement is clean and tidy.
- Transportation and support to attend appointments.
- Promoting connection to family and kinship through facilitating and participating in approved contact.
- Support in a therapeutic manner behaviours and escalation.
- Completions of administrative tasks including shift notes, incident reports, and other important tasks that may be required.
- Comply with the requirements of DCJ, OCG and Child Safety standards.

**About you**

As a Youth Worker, you are passionate about making a positive impact to the young people lives. You understand the difference that you can make through every interaction. You have the ability to connect and build rapport with the young people and show a genuine interest in the lives, whilst creating professional boundaries. You have the ability to manage difficult situations and behaviours and be able to de-escalate these situations in a therapeutic way.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Have completed Certificate 4 or higher in Youth Work, Social Work, or other relevant courses.
- Emerging Minds Training (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children Check (WWC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
- Police Check
- First Aid Certificate
- Drivers Licence, reliable car & insurance
- Availability for a variety of different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend).
- Skills / Training that will be highly regarded: TCI, PACE, Youth Mental Health First Aid
