**About the Role**
Nexus Division is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Consultant Technical Writer - ICT & Platform Documentation (ANZSCO: 212415)** for a contract engagement supporting digital transformation and infrastructure documentation projects. This position plays a critical role in translating complex ICT systems, workflows, and APIs into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
Ideal for a self-driven contractor with a strong background in enterprise environments, this role requires proficiency in technical writing tools, stakeholder engagement, and documentation governance within fast-paced project settings.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation including process maps, SOPs, API integration guides, user manuals, and technical references.
- Translate complex ICT concepts and architectures into accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, and project leads to extract accurate information across systems and workflows.
- Develop and enforce consistent documentation standards in alignment with corporate style guides and industry best practices.
- Support the buildout of internal documentation portals (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
- Ensure alignment between documentation deliverables and project milestones.
- Contribute to content version control, approval workflows, and change management protocols.
- Provide documentation support across multiple concurrent technology initiatives as needed.
**Key Requirements**
**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field (or international equivalent).
**Experience**:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical writing within enterprise ICT environments (infrastructure, systems integration, software development).
- Prior experience in contract-based or consultancy-style documentation delivery models preferred.
**Technical Skills Required**
- **Documentation Tools**: Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite
- **Writing Standards**: Familiarity with structured writing, corporate style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style)
- **Content Types**: SOPs, process flows, API documentation, internal guides, user manuals
- **Collaboration**: Strong stakeholder engagement across IT, operations, and product delivery teams
- **Version Control**: Experience managing content workflows, versioning, and approvals
**Desirable Skills**
- Exposure to platforms such as SDL Tridion, Sitecore, or CMS systems
- Background in DevOps, enterprise SaaS, or systems engineering environments
- Familiarity with Agile and hybrid project methodologies
- Prior work with compliance documentation (e.g., in government or regulated sectors)
