**ABOUT THIS ROLE**

Our clients are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to fulfill two positions within the maritime space supporting numerous Naval projects and platforms. Positions available in Garden Island and Defence Plaza.

As a Technical Writer you will be responsible for supporting the review, development, and management of technical documentation. The roles have an emphasis on maintenance, including but not limited to technical work instructions and plans, planned maintenance documentation and schedules, engineering operating procedures, service requirements and Australian naval publications and service manuals.

The Technical Writer must be able to analyse requirements and develop material through consultation with engineering and technical staff external and/or internal to the Client organisation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Investigate and develop technical documents, through gathering information and writing technical procedures, manuals specifications and process documentation.
- Provide a level of Quality Assurance for outgoing reports and deliverables.
- Undertake documentation planning and implement organisational document control plans and procedures.
- Analyse requirements, perform research and liaise directly with Systems Engineers, Team Leads, SME's, Navy customers and Industry suppliers to develop technical documentation as required.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

**SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED**
- Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Baseline or NV1 security clearance at a minimum.
- Technical trade experience in one or more specific disciplines (mechanical or electrical).
- Experience in developing technical documentation.
- Demonstrated and highly developed written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Experience in Defence.
- Maintain customer relations.
