**About the Department**:
The Department of Treasury and Finance is the lead agency for economic, social and financial policy outcomes. We play a vital role in providing financial services to the community and economic and fiscal policy advice to the Government of South Australia.

Electorate Services provides a range of services to Members of Parliament for the management and provision of support in the areas of human resources, accommodation, security, procurement, budget management, and management of the Global Allowance for the Members of the House of Assembly. In addition, Electorate Services also oversees the management of the Ministerial chauffeur service.

**About the opportunity**:
The HR Support Officer - Payroll will provide specific payroll related services to the staff of Members of the South Australian Parliament, ensuring the provision of effective and efficient payroll support services by:

- Contributing to human resource functions in regard to the employment of staff to Members of the South Australian Parliament (e.g. processing documentation, data entry, reporting on employee leave entitlements, updating employee personnel records).
- Process high volumes of casual timesheets and data entry for the payment of wages
- Monitor expiry dates and preparation of extension documentation for temporary contracts of employment for staff to Members of the South Australian Parliament.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including Shared Services Payroll, Members of Parliament and their staff, regarding complex queries regarding payment of wages, leave entitlements, service audits, termination payments, additional hours and higher duties.
- Assist the Business Support Officer in times of leave or high volume

**About you**:
You will have demonstrated experience in:

- Experience in providing payroll orientated services with a commitment to achieving high quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Proven administrative and organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to use initiative, determine priorities and manage time effectively.
- Ability to deal with politically sensitive issues while maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contribute to a culture of team work and take a shared responsibility for achieving results.
- Experience in the use of computer based office systems, including databases, word processing and spreadsheets.
