**About the role**

**About you**

Reporting directly to the (DBS) National Alternate Proposal Governance Manager you are an experienced Data Analyst who can provide practical data & analytics to enable the delivery of long-term sustainable change and improvement across the DBS contract. This role is integral in providing quantitative and qualitative analytics to help the business produce benefits that lead to strategic outcomes and influence key business decisions.

**Key duties, but not limited to**:

- Technical review and endorsement of Estate Upkeep Alternate Proposals
- Build analytics tools that utilise the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer requirements, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
- Assemble large & complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements
- Identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimising data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
- Create data tools for data analytics team and operational managers that assist them in building and optimising our product into an innovative industry leader
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

**Skills and experience**:

- In addition to your formal qualifications and experience, we seek to employ people who possess:

- 2+ years of experience in a Data Analytics role
- Degree qualified in IT, Engineering or Finance
- Strong Data visualisation and storytelling skills in both Power BI and Excel
- Analytical experience in a Finance division (Management or Financial Accounting Reporting, Balance Sheet Reporting, Reconciliation) or demonstrable understanding of these concepts not essential but would be considered favourably
- Ability to source data through data systems and databases (SAP BW, SQL etc). SQL experience advantageous but not essential to this role
- In depth understanding of relational database management systems
- Strong problem solving and diagnostic skills
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- An ability to successfully engaging stakeholders from various levels of the business
- High level of detail

**Other special conditions**

The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). As a result of this requirement the incumbent is preferred to be an Australian Citizen.
This position requires a National Criminal History check and a valid Australian driver’s licence.
