The Smart User & Silicon Lighting is looking for motivated and driven individuals who use initiative, research and analytical skills to proactively add value in their day to day work.

Several permanent Data Analyst positions are available to full-time and part-time applicants. These roles are based in Perth.

These roles are available in the following teams:
International Trade Statistics Program
Agriculture Statistics Program
Environmental and Satellite Accounts Program

**About the roles**:
Statistical Analysts help the Smart User & Silicon Lighting meet its objectives by working with a diverse team to produce and analyse data and draw conclusions, to inform critical decisions such as the impact of and response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and the Governments response to changing climate and natural hazards.

The roles and responsibilities of a Statistical Analyst may vary depending on the specific role and team which the applicant is placed in, however, typical roles and responsibilities at this level include:
Solving problems, undertaking research, and statistical analysis.
Collecting and compiling statistics for publication.
Writing and presenting reports for a variety of audiences.
Assisting with the management of a team.
Contributing to the development of strategies and plans that support the ABS’ strategic objectives.
Partnering with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure data are fit for purpose.
Undertaking improvement projects designed to find efficiencies in the way we work, and/or improve the quality of the statistics produced and services provided.

To be suitable you should have most or all the following skills, qualities, and experience:
**_Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills: _**
strong organisational skills, to both self-manage and support a small team
well-developed decision-making abilities
strong written and verbal communication skills
ability to build strong relationships with your team and your stakeholders.

**_Other (non-essential) desirable attributes include: _**
demonstrated experience or qualifications in a relevant field (data science, economics, statistics)
demonstrated experience in computer programming (especially SAS or R).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $4,600.50 - $7,250.50 per month
