**About the Department**:

**Your Role**:
The Principal Advisor, Behaviour has responsibility for the following:
- Provide high level advice and support to senior officers of Schools and Student Support Division and other senior officers within the department on policy and strategy relating to state schools.
- Contribute, as a member of the senior management team, to setting the strategic direction for the branch and ensuring the effectiveness of policies, standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and contribute to the strategic direction and activities as defined in priorities set by senior management.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of the activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals.
- Lead and manage multiple teams and projects and coordinate the development of systemic initiatives relating to departmental priorities.
- Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of State and Commonwealth funds, where applicable, and manage reporting requirements.
- Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of Schools and Student Support Division priorities for all students in state school.
- Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders and clients.
- Prepare and review briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to the functional area of the branch at state, national and international levels.
- Utilise, model and build team capability in effective and productive work practices enabled by digital technologies.
**About You**:The successful applicant will**:
- Lead the development of policy responses to significant initiatives, issues and risks for state schools.
- Lead and manage teams and activities within Schools and Student Support Division to develop new and innovative responses to emerging issues affecting state schools.
- Work within short timeframes with high levels of accuracy and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Establish effective internal and external networks and liaise, communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
- Participate in and lead the work of the team to develop projects, strategic policy, guidelines, statewide service delivery implementation and program evaluation.
