**Aboriginal Client & Community Support Officer**

**Location - Sydney**

**Employment type - Ongoing (Full Time)**

**Clerk grade 3/4. Salary - $82,193 - $90,001 plus employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading**
- This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only_

**Your role**

The role provides project support and effective customer service to Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal clients attending court.

**What you’ll do**

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing support for a range of Aboriginal targeted projects to Aboriginal clients and communities.
- Preparing correspondence and reports and maintain filing, record and data systems to ensure they are accurate, accessible and secure.
- Providing culturally appropriate front line customer service & project delivery.
- Collating, interpreting, managing and disseminating information to support project development and implementation.
- Undertaking research to enhance project delivery and outcomes.
- Promoting projects and services to Aboriginal clients and communities

**What we’re looking for**
- Aboriginality - typically all or the majority of the work of an Aboriginal identified role will involve the development and or delivery of policy, programs and services which impact on Aboriginal people and or involve liaising directly with Aboriginal people and communities.
- A current driver’s licence (unrestricted) and willingness to travel is required (regional locations only).
- Documented verification of Aboriginality.

The Department will accept proof of Aboriginality confirming the following:

- You are an aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent;
- You identify as being Aboriginal; and

An acceptable form of documented verification is a “Confirmation of Aboriginality” letter, provided to you by a local Aboriginal organisation that includes a common seal from that organisation.

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
