**About the role**:
Based in our Melbourne Tullamarine office this role reports to the Operations Manager, handles all invoices, ensures quality services and customer satisfaction, optimises shipment profit, provides feedback for continuous improvements and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth running of sea freight operation.
**What you will be doing**:
- Sea Freight Cartage Co-ordination
- Handle customers’ requests & bookings
- Liaise with cartage companies, shipping lines & forwarders
- Create & issue the required shipment & cartage documents to internal & external stakeholders
- Work closely with Operations & Customs to organise cargo pick-ups & drops off
- Invoice
- Make certain duties & taxes are raised on a disbursement invoice & collected before the release of all sea freight cargo
- Advise operations and accruals on all costs incurred concerning transport & cartage
- Invoice and collect monies before the release of sea freight cargo
- Process sea freight supplier invoices according to ISO standards & Bollore Logistics guidelines
- Raise disputed invoices to the relevant department
- Maximise efficiency and profit on shipments
- Maintain total quality and ensure customer satisfaction on both cartage and freight forwarding delivery
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders to improve processes
**Requirements**:
Essential:
- At least two years of experience in cartage or related role
- Proficient knowledge in sea freight cartage forwarding
Desirable:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic understanding of transport & cartage accounting procedures
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Strong organisational skills
