**About the role**
As the Health, Safety and Well-being Lead, you will be responsible for the driving the Operational and Strategic Health and Safety outcomes across Cancer Council Queensland.
This is a varied role that requires an experienced workplace health and safety professional to have a hands-on attitude whilst maintaining a strategic approach to safety systems. You would have one direct report, who is responsible for coordination of Health, Safety and Well-being activities.
This role is a Permanent Full-time position (37.5 hours/week)

**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
**Qualification/s and Experience**
- Formal qualifications in Work Health & Safety or relevant field relevant to a Senior Health and Safety role.
- Demonstrated experience as a Workplace Health & Safety leader for a multi-site organisation.
**Technical Skills and Abilities**
- A strong communicator with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a flexible and adaptable work environment.
- A thorough understanding of the Workplace Health and Safety environment, including how relevant legislation interacts with the functions associated with People & Culture activities.
- Experience in leading safety audits, including training and delivery on how to conduct safety activities.
- Proven ability to use initiative and to work autonomously and effectively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of use in Microsoft suite.

CCQ has a Leadership Capability Framework which outlines the necessary capabilities of leaders at different leadership levels: Executive (CEO and GMs), Senior Managers, Managers, and Frontline Managers (Team Leaders and Senior Coordinators).

**People and Culture**
The People (Employment and Volunteering) team look after employee recruitment, wellbeing, workplace relations, learning and development, and Work Health and Safety. The team also oversees the recruitment, development and engagement of CCQ’s volunteers, and supports employees to deliver best practice volunteer engagement and supervision. With a workforce of 200 employees, 1100 regular volunteers and thousands of event volunteers, the People Team work hard to ensure everyone completes the relevant training needed to feel comfortable in, and excel at, their roles.
