**Role Summary**:
The Area Product Owner is a newly created opportunity in our Customer Business Unit based at our Perth CBD office. This is a max-term role for an initial 12 month period.

Synergy is mobilising a customer engagement platform program to deliver a single consolidated platform across sales, pricing, marketing, customer service and self-service to help drive better outcomes for customers.

The purpose of the role is to be a key expert in sales, pricing, marketing, customer service and or self-service. You will collaborate with the Product Owner through the product backlog management process to continually optimise value and clarify product backlog items with teams to deliver optimal outcomes for Synergy.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Collaborate with the Product Owner in the transformation program to perform effective product backlog management including recommending product goals and the creation of product backlog items
- Define criteria and perform acceptance testing of product backlog items to confirm the item meets the acceptance criteria
- Participate in events including planning multi-team / individual team sprints, overall product backlog refinement, multi-team product backlog refinement and team retrospective
- Working collaboratively with project leaders and project support to remove any impediments for the relevant team
- Agree approaches to measuring value realisation with the relevant team and helping execute these approaches, collaboratively, communicating this to the relevant program leader

**What you’ll bring**:

- Tertiary qualifications or certification, ideally bachelor’s degree in Business Management and project related training such as Agile.
- 5+ years’ experience as a SME in an area such as pricing, sales, marketing, self service, customer service.
- Sound knowledge of Agile and Scrum
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder and/or customer engagement roles
- Experience in a commercial environment demonstrating strong business acumen
