Government agency looking for a Contracts Manager to provide contractual advice for capital works contracts.

**Your new company**
Our client is a government agency based in Brisbane that provides a number of products and services to assist in the building and maintenance of government owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to add a Contracts Manager to their team to help with their various and ongoing capital works projects.

**Your new role**
As the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on building related procurement protocols and contract across the whole of government, while taking the lead in the development, maintenance and upgrading of building and maintenance contracts within the department. You will also assist in standing offer arrangements for the supply of goods and services, as well as engage with external lawyers in relation to such contracts.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of contracts and project procurement options within the construction and project management space. Therefore, you will ideally come from a project management background, specialising in procurement and contract documentation. You will also have an understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks and government policies applicable to government procurement of building projects in Queenslanders. Given this role includes tender and documentation, a solid understanding of Microsoft Office programs is essential.

**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start in an initial 9-12 month contracted role within a local government agency with the possibility of extension. You will be offered a full-time temporary position paying a negotiable rate + super. You may also have the potential opportunity to work from home.
