**Your new company**
The client is a global heavy machinery OEM, who supply equipment and services to the world’s largest mining and quarry operators. Head quartered in Asia, with teams placed locally to support their valued clients in the high activity areas, incorporating design, supply, manufacture and service. This business has gone from strength and as a result are now looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to support the global supply and account management teams.
**Your new role**
As the Commercial Contract Specialist, your role will encompass but not be limited to the below activities.
- Manage new contract negotiations, delivering effective balance between commercial return and risk
- Oversee and manage the implementation and administration of existing global account contracts
- Draft complex contractual concepts, customer letters, notices and variations.
- Provide contract / tender / bid support to global account managers, and other internal stakeholders as required
- Provide contract and commercial leadership in resolving disputes and issues, ensuring acceptable outcome
- Reporting on financial, contractual, and administrative status of global contracts and accounts.
- Maintain global pricing strategies and systems to support unique distribution structure
- Provide commercial and market analysis support for products and technologies
- Provide commercial, analytical and contractual support (including drafting) on projects as required.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, identifying and minimising risks
**What you'll need to succeed**
Your success in this role will be attributed to your experience in a similar contracts management position, preferably from a mining or heavy industrial background. Where this role differs from most contracts management positions, is that you will form the framework and basis for each contract at a global level and support the local jurisdiction parameters for each supply contract globally. The below attributes will also be advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen
- Strong understanding of contractual terminology and commercial laws/regulations, their implications and ability to translate to other stakeholders
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Advanced understanding of MS Office, especially excel
- Advanced level of attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously, but also as part of a team.
- Experience in financial modelling
- Understanding of supply chain, Incoterms and indices would be an advantage.
**What you'll get in return**
This is an initial 18 month contract, with a view to extend given the current capacity of the role. The client also offer a very competitive rate, with the addition of flexible working arrangements.
