**About the Role

Review Commissioners are independent of the Queensland Police Service and the CCC. The CCC provides secretariat support to Review Commissioners, and review hearings are conducted at the CCC's premises.

Review Commissioners perform a range of functions, including:
Reviewing all material to be presented at a hearing, including panel chair reports, appointee and applicant statements
Conducting non-adversarial hearings
Write reports and make recommendations to the Police Commissioner
Exercise decision-making powers during the administrative process

Key Capabilities

The CCC is seeking applicants qualified for appointment as Chairperson of the CCC, or those with community service experience, or experience of community standards and expectations, relating to public sector officials and public sector administration, who will preferably possess:
a knowledge of, or an ability to acquire rapidly, a thorough knowledge of the Police Service Administration Act 1990 and other relevant law
the ability to preside effectively over non-adversarial hearings or similar proceedings
a high level of integrity and accountability

Eligibility Requirements

Under 9.2A of the Police Service Administration Act 1990, the Chairperson of the Crime and Corruption Commission may nominate any of the following persons to be a Commissioner for Police Service Reviews,

a commissioner or former commissioner of the Crime and Corruption Commission;
a former member of the Criminal Justice Commission;
a person qualified for appointment as chairperson of the Crime and Corruption Commission;
a person who has community service experience, or experience of community standards and expectations, relating to public sector officials and public sector
