About the team and role

Group Financial Crime Risk helps to protect the Bank, our customers and the communities we serve from the impacts of financial crime. An integrated department in Group Risk, the function helps to design, oversee, deliver and champion the activities that occur across the Bank to manage the risk of financial crime.

Group Financial Crime Risk is responsible for delivering an overarching framework to manage the risk of financial crime, which includes advice and oversight across the Group, coupled with detection and intelligence led / data driven decision making within the function.

The purpose of the role of Manager FCR Governance is to deliver leading financial crime governance and policy services to the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group. Supporting the Senior Manager FCR Governance, the role delivers international and domestic best practice and standards in financial crime risk management, policy and risk assessments, provides clear insights and management information reporting services for Board and Executive committees and assists to manage the Group’s relationship with the AML/CTF Regulator AUSTRAC.

The role will provide exposure to varying and senior stakeholders, regulators and committees. An opportunity to grow and develop, gain understanding of risk appetite, build regulatory rigor and invest in our organisation Group Risk best practices.

Experience, capabilities and qualifications

Solid knowledge of financial crime risk related regulatory requirements and demonstrated skill in the process of managing the operation of financial crime risk frameworks, including best practice innovative policy development, regulatory change, enterprise risk assessments, and associated governance
Demonstrated skill at communicating and managing stakeholder relationships and supporting the delivery of change to teams and business processes
High level of written communication is essential; ideally with policy documentation, report writing
Regulatory relationship skills will be advantageous
Demonstrated experience in financial crime governance and/or advisory services at international or domestic financial institution
Best practice technical expertise in financial crime policy
Experience in delivering financial crime management information and reporting for committees
