About the Role
The Commercial Business and the Commercial data environment is constantly evolving. The Data Transformation Lead will be important in:
Defining operating model & accountability frameworks around the data change agenda, incl Enterprise Data Strategy (enabling eventing enabling data driven processes with timely, trusted data enabled by in the moment controls & governance).
Defining the delivery pathways to execute on the vision for AI-driven Commercial transformation, that is tightly coupled with Commercial business strategy and is anchored in measurable P&L impact. This includes integrating advanced analytics and AI agentic workflows in customer and banker experiences to deliver operational and customer-centric efficiencies.
Ensuring connectivity with business and technology change agenda with the data requirements of Commercial and the broader Enterprise.

What will your day look like?
**This role is accountable for**:
Future state Commercial Data ecosystem detailed design, including shaping a Commercial workforce capable of operating with its own platform/environment.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial Data & Analytics to prioritise, manage and oversee the Use Case pipeline for Enterprise Data Strategy to ensure target state data environment is fit for purpose and meets the current/future demand of the business and the Commercial data community - accelerating the speed in which data is identified & accessed, improving the trust & transparency of data, and enabling more sophisticated, more demanding data use cases.
Liaison with TMO to ensure Transformation initiatives consider data requirements/impact and effort/cost to implement during elaboration stages of the project. Working with these initiatives to scope and size the work, forecast/resource activity accordingly without impact to BAU data resources, and oversee the implementation through management of the project bench.
The ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ’s values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development.
Represent data from a business architecture perspective to ensure optimal data integrity, data performance and data governance within the Commercial Transformation agenda through consulting, partnering and advice.
What will you bring?
- Extensive ANZ and ANZ Commercial experience (3+ yrs)
- An understanding of how to leverage emerging technologies, especially AI and cloud-native platforms, to innovate and reimagine customer experiences and deliver on our strategy.
- Heavy experience with data and business architecture, an understanding of best practice principles.
- Ability to get across and maintain connectivity with a large variety of initiatives - navigating the high level and the detail where required.
- Ability to perform trusted advisory role, whilst influencing required outcomes. This stakeholder management can be challenging due to the competing cost/quality/delivery timeline priorities.
- Demonstrated capability in building effective relationship across various business functions and influencing diverse stakeholders groups to drive alignment to agreed outcomes and priorities.
- Ability to partner with broader Commercial Data Leadership, influence maturity of the data community via strong leadership.
