Role purpose
The Manager Insights and Analytics is a new role in Strategic Communications and Marketing and will lead the establishment of a new insights function for the branch.
The Manager Insights and Analytics is responsible for helping staff across the branch to access and understand audience and stakeholder behaviour and trends, so they more deeply understand audience and stakeholder characteristics and can use these insights to improve the effectiveness of strategic and tactical communications, marketing and engagement efforts.
The Manager Insights and Analytics leads the capture, analysis and monitoring of stakeholder satisfaction activity and provides insights to help the department identify where and how it needs to improve its efforts to engage different stakeholders.
The role leads a team who employ best-practice analytics and insights tools to inform and shape the communications and engagement related customer experience of the department's brand and sub-brand.
The Manager leads a team inclusive of insights, analytics and customer experience roles to drive improved accessibility and availability of audience and stakeholder insights that can be used to improve customer experience and outcomes. The team also monitors and provides advice on trends and opportunities to support achievement of the department's strategic objectives.
The role works closely with the digital marketing team to ensure best practice customer experience solutions and measures the impact of these on customer experience and communication outcomes.
This role may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch, including participating in out of hours rosters, providing support for public emergencies, large-scale communications campaigns and other high priority projects.
Key accountabilities

**Operating at value range 1, you will**:

- Develop and implement an insights and analytics service for the branch.
- Through detailed data analysis and investigation, provide authoritative advice on communications and engagement related trends, risks and issues and support resulting business needs.
- Provide audience data and insights to inform the development of strategic communications.
- Provide expert advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of customer data and insights.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the department and work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Identify current and future data needs and trends and provide input into continuous improvement recommendations.
- Use high-level presentation skills to present to all levels of the organisation, develop business cases and write briefs and memos to influence colleagues and gain buy-in and support for insights-led approaches.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
