**Role Overview**

The Compliance & Quality Assurance - Academic is responsible for ensuring that all training and assessment activities comply with RTO Standards 2015, ASQA regulations, and AQF guidelines. This includes managing pre-validation and post-validation of assessments, conducting assessment audits, ensuring documentation accuracy, leading academic improvement initiatives, and engaging with industry experts to align training with industry needs.

The role requires high attention to detail, strong written and verbal English skills, structured documentation abilities, and expertise in compliance management. The Academic Manager will work closely with trainers, assessors, industry professionals, and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and enhance the quality of education delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Compliance & Quality Assurance**
- Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with ASQA regulations, RTO Standards 2015, and AQF guidelines.
- Oversee pre-validation and post-validation of assessments to ensure consistency, fairness, and competency alignment.
- Conduct regular assessment audits and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), assessment policies, and moderation procedures.
- Develop and update policies related to assessment validation, academic integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor compliance risks and ensure the organization is audit-ready at all times.

**Documentation & Reporting**
- Ensure accurate documentation of training programs, validation records, and assessment tools.
- Maintain compliance reports, audit records, and student assessment documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports to ASQA and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Implement document control processes to maintain compliance with RTO record-keeping standards.

**Curriculum & Assessment Development**
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS).
- Ensure learning resources, assessments, and student materials meet industry and compliance standards.
- Oversee assessment mapping and competency alignment.
- Provide guidance to trainers and assessors on curriculum delivery and assessment best practices.

**Trainer & Assessor Development**
- Mentor and support trainers and assessors in compliance, validation, and assessment development.
- Conduct professional development workshops on academic policies and compliance best practices.
- Ensure that all trainers meet vocational competency and industry currency requirements.
- Facilitate industry consultations and validation meetings.

**Industry Expert Consultation**
- Engage with industry experts and advisory groups to ensure training and assessment materials reflect current industry standards and best practices.
- Incorporate industry insights into curriculum development and assessment validation.
- Organize and participate in industry consultation meetings to align training programs with workforce needs.
- Ensure that feedback from industry experts informs continuous improvement initiatives.

**Student Engagement & Academic Integrity**
- Oversee student assessment appeals, academic integrity cases, and feedback processes.
- Ensure all student assessments adhere to competency-based training principles.
- Address student concerns related to academic progress, assessments, and course delivery.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on student and industry feedback.

**Stakeholder & Industry Engagement**
- Work closely with regulatory authorities, auditors, and industry partners to ensure compliance.
- Represent the college in external audits and compliance-related discussions.
- Maintain strong relationships with industry advisory groups and professional associations.

**Skills & Qualifications**

**Education & Training Requirements**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Business, Compliance, or a related field.
- Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent training qualification).
- In-depth knowledge of ASQA, RTO compliance, and AQF guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in RTO management, assessment validation, and compliance audits.

**Technical & Compliance Skills**
- High accuracy and attention to detail in academic documentation and compliance reporting.
- Expertise in assessment moderation, validation, and audit preparation.
- Strong documentation skills, including policy development and compliance reporting.
- Familiarity with student management systems (SMS) and learning management systems (LMS).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and compliance tracking software.

**Communication & Leadership Skills**
- Strong written and verbal English skills, ensuring clarity in documentation and compliance processes.
