Metro Trains has an exciting opportunity for a
**Commercial Analyst** to
** **join the Projects team.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the
**Commercial Analyst** provides support to the Commercial Manager in financial, commercial, contractual, procurement and modelling matters. This includes commercial modelling and analysis for the Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) and Melbourne Airport Rail Project (MAR) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) modelling and submissions for MTP & MAR.

This is a
**fulltime, permanent **role
** **based in Melbourne’s CBD and will require you to also attend the Sunshine office.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide support to the Commercial Manager in updating MTP package commercial models for performance analysis, scenario analysis, ad-hoc decision support, variations / adjustment events, and new contracts.
- Provide support to the Commercial Manager in developing MAR Package commercial models for Initial Proposal Phase (IPP), Final Proposal Phase (FPP), development stage negotiations, contract finalisation, and delivery stage analyses.
- Responsible for performing analysis in relation to MTP & MAR procurement strategies and decisions, including analysing supplier spend, assessing procurement business practice / compliance, and assisting with recommendations.
- Provide support in developing presentations and documents for the effective communication of financial information.
- Responsible for maintaining, updating and providing commercial input into the MTP & MAR OPEX models.
- Any other relevant duties as specified by the Commercial Manager.

**About You**
- Tertiary Qualification in Commerce / Business / Engineering or Accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and ability.
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial and financial environment and has knowledge of accounting concepts.
- Strong communication and relationship skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge in providing services across multiple business areas in a large organisation.
- Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information including estimating.
- Background in transaction advisory, corporate finance, corporate development, forecasting or other similar financial modelling experience is highly desirable but not essential.
