The Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) is a statutory authority established to facilitate the effective management of Victoria’s fisheries resources in a coordinated and strategic way that ensures their ongoing sustainability. The VFA functions to ensure that the Government, the recreational and commercial fishing sectors, and the Victorian community can share in and obtain the benefits from sustainable fisheries management. The VFA has around 188 FTE located in the Melbourne CBD, metropolitan Melbourne and across regional Victoria.

**About the Team**
Manager, Acquaculture provides authoritative and strategic advice to the Director Fisheries Management and CEO regarding all aspects of Aquaculture Management within the Victorian Fisheries Authority including regulatory, policy, legislative and strategic advice, licensing, and Ministerial correspondence related to the management aquaculture production. The role includes one direct report.
About the Opportunity
**About You**
- **Sector Experience**: Demonstrated expertise of and/or experience of working with the aquaculture sector or similar.
- **Conceptual and Analytical Ability**: Uses conceptual thinking and sound analytical approaches to support decision making in the work area.
- **Stakeholder engagement**: Experience in stakeholder engagement, analysing and understanding the conflicting interests of stakeholders, whilst maintaining strong working relationships and identifying risks/barriers.
- **Communication**: Highly developed communication skills, that can be applied to the preparation of briefs, internal communications and engaging with external stakeholders.
- **Project Delivery**: Is regarded as a thought leader in project management; Considers historical, political and broader context to inform project direction and mitigate risk.
