The Payments domain in CBA brings together the process, people and technology assets supporting real-time, bulk electronic, cheques, high value and international payments processing for the Bank.

The team has the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank’s services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another.

The Safe & Seamless Payments Crew within the Payments Domain has accountability for three key areas including tokenised payments which include merchant tokenised payments, 3rd party wallets such as Apple, Google, Garmin and the proprietary wallet known as CBA Tap & Pay. The Crew also has accountability for account based (digital/assisted) payments which customers initiate through the retail channels (eg. schedule a bill, pay to a PayID via the App, Netback, CommSee). The Crew also has accountability for the Scams program of delivery across the Group.

**Your impact and contribution**

As a Product Owner within the Safe & Seamless Payments Crew, you will work with other squads in the Crew and across other Domains to deliver what is needed from a data infrastructure and availability perspective for retail payments (payments made by customers using retail channels). This will incorporate the delivery of new data channels (eg. Cards Modernisation, new product/feature offerings) and modernisation of existing data assets (eg. access to retail payments data via LLMs). You will be leading a team of data delivery experts to achieve this, while creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable and high performance culture, and working collaboratively within and across Crews.

This position reports to the **Crew Lead, Safe & Seamless Payments **.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Develop and prioritise items to meet our customer needs and aligning with payments initiatives and goals
- Deliver initiatives on time, to scope and within budget
- Support other Crews within Payments and RBS EDB as needed, based on capacity and expertise.
- Work collaboratively with CDAO to ensure payments data is aligned with the Group’s strategic data roadmap and architecture
- Maintain strong consideration for operational risk including support for production incidents
- Continuously review and enhance existing data delivery practices to ensure delivery can become more efficient
- Provide leadership including team engagement, strategic vision, and alignment to Payments and Crew goals, across a diverse range team members located in geographies
- Communicate initiative status, blockers, dependencies, issue and risks across a variety of stakeholders and cadences
- Be accountable for end-to-end delivery (including impact assessments, discover, solution design, quality control, obtaining all sign-off (Data Governance, UAT, Releases), production deployment and run)
- Ensure group data guardrails are followed for all data deliverables
- Engage various key stakeholders for addressing impediments, managing conflicts and escalations
- Lead all agile ceremonies for your squad, building a high performing team and support squad members to meet the agreed sprint goals.

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrable experience working collaboratively cross functional teams, stakeholders, review boards and committees
- Strong data systems knowledge, stakeholder management and team leadership skills
- Demonstrated capability for constructive challenge, including process improvement and challenging the status quo
- Past experience in development of high performing teams, ideally leading ASP colleagues
- Strong commitment to delivery and ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
- Strong communication skills
- Expertise in data best practice
- Prior experience in leading cross functional data delivery teams, data engineering, solution design, and / or technical business analysis
- Agile delivery related experience is desired
- A genuine interest in developing the data capability for the SSP Crew testing new tools (eg. LLMs to access data)
- Willingness to contribute more broadly to the Crew performance and engagement
