**What You Will Be Doing**
The Youth AOD and Mental Health Peer Support Worker will utilise their lived experience to embed lived experience in leadership and decision making structures at Peninsula Health. This role will promote best practice by placing consumers and carers at the centre of policy and practice change by engaging consumers through a co-design and co-production process.
This role will work closely with the transformation team to provide input to the transformation priority areas of
- model of care,
- implementation planning,
- lived experience
- co-production and partnerships
**What You Need**
We anticipate you will have:
- Lived experience of Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health concerns and the AOD/Mental Health service sector
- Advanced stability of personal recovery
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups
- Understanding of the diversity of cultural, linguistic and gender backgrounds of our community and the impact this has on consumers and their families experience of substance use disorder and mental health.
- Understanding of the concepts of recovery.
