**About the role**:
We are seeking a Payroll Officer for a 6-month contract to join our Dry Creek office.
You will assist in preparing and processing weekly payroll for approximately 1000 employees over eight companies nationally, including New Zealand.
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer holds an important role in the company, ensuring that the timely and accurate processing of payroll is completed in the appropriate time frame as required legally.
**The responsibilities will include, but not limited to**:
- Manual coding of all hard copy timesheets
- Data entry of manually completed timesheets
- Filing of timesheets, weekly reports and employment related records
- Assist Payroll Officers in completing end to end process, including EFT file uploads and issuing of pay slips
- Set up new starter profiles in Sage MicroPay
- Manage both electronic and hardcopy employment related records and employee files.
- Actively comply with company policies and procedures including strict confidentiality
- Demonstrate behaviour in accordance with the company’s values
- Adhoc duties as agreed and requested by the Payroll Manager
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Experience in data entry with excellent attention to detail, time management skills and accuracy
- Knowledge, skill and experience with the Office 365 suite of products, including MS Outlook and MS Excel (beginner)
- Be able to maintain high workloads, and meet deadlines within specified time frames and ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Experience using Sage MicroPay and ConnX is desirable
- Ideally experience interpreting Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements
