**About Our Opportunity**

Sitting within the CEO’s Office, the Public Affairs Manager will play an important and multi-disciplinary role in supporting the Office and Australian Unity Group with government and advocacy relations, media communications, public relations, issue management and both corporate and strategic communications. The role will provide expertise across the Group and Australian Unity businesses within the Retail, Home Health, Specialist Care and Wealth & Capital Markets platforms.

**What You Will Do**
- Monitor and analyse current issues, policies and legislation, political trends and potential policy activities of relevance to the organisation
- Contribute to proactive advocacy strategy that supports key business initiatives and builds and maintains constructive relationships with key stakeholders
- Produce high quality communication material, including reports, media statements, speeches, articles, correspondence for senior leadership
- Shape and drive the ‘voice of the Group’ regarding key strategic initiatives and partner and collaborate across functions to progress those key initiatives

**What we are looking for**
- Degree Qualification in communications, social science public relations, business or other related areas
- Previous experience in a communication, advisory or strategic role within a complex corporate environment
- Experience in a media, government or public relations will be highly regarded, as well as knowledge of Government and structures
- Demonstrated critical, strategic and analytical thinking capability and strong business acumen
- Superior written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong oral communication, relationship building and influencing skills
- Highly developed time management skills and ability to manage various priorities simultaneously in fast-paced environment
