An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic Allied Health professional to join Student Support Services (SSS) in the North East Melbourne Area. You will be highly self-motivated and lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support schools in providing student wellbeing services and improving student learning outcomes. You will be innovative and highly flexible, with the ability to work within your team, and lead your team in delivering evidence-based initiatives in schools. **Fixed-Term/Full-Time (duration until 19th September, 2025)**
The SSS Team Leader has responsibilities for:
- Managing a local team of SSS employees to support a group of schools in the delivery of student support services to improve student learning and wellbeing.
- In collaboration with schools, identifying, developing and coordinating strategies aimed at quality universal services for all students and supporting schools in addressing wellbeing issues early.
- Collaborating with the Area team with the implementation of evidence based and multi-disciplinary approaches.
- In conjunction with the SSS Branch Manager, coordinate effective responses to emergencies and critical incidents.
- Provide professional leadership that supports the work of others and their professional development, including supervision.
- Provide authoritative professional advice to management, school leaders and team members, including strategies to improve learning for students with additional needs.
- Advise and direct team members in their work, particularly in relation to breaking the link between socio-economic disadvantage and student achievement.
- Engage and negotiate with community service organisations, DFFH, hospitals, specialist programs and other professionals regarding the support needs for students and schools.
- Manage a small caseload of complex cases and/or complex issues that support schools in meeting Education State targets.
- Collaborate with Senior Education Improvement Leaders (SEILs) to target service delivery and additional support to schools to improve student learning outcomes.
