YOUR ROLE
The Team Leader, Student Health and Wellbeing is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of key initiatives, including the MACS Student Wellbeing Uplift program and strategy. This role ensures that initiatives align with MACS2030 and other strategic priorities.
The right candidate for this role can start in 2026.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborate with the Manager, Student Health and Wellbeing, to lead the team, providing professional guidance, contributing to strategic planning, overseeing work output, managing performance, supporting professional development and managing escalated matters
- Lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of the MACS Student Wellbeing Uplift program and strategy, incorporating a whole school approach to student health and wellbeing education
- Support the review and implementation of priorities, polices and initiatives that promote and strengthen wellbeing for learning, aligned to MACS:2030 Strategic Plan
- Engage with the school improvement process to develop data informed practices that enhance student wellbeing and school community engagement
- Ensure consistent, system design and delivery of resources and professional learning for school and system leaders, and for primary and secondary teaching and support staff, to build ongoing skill and knowledge development
- Identify strategies within the educational remit to effectively support and respond to issues that impact the safety and mental health of children and young people
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading student health and wellbeing initiatives at the school or system level, incorporating a whole school approach
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with team members to design effective, evidence informed strategies and professional learning that strengthen practice, drive improvement, and support the achievement of agreed outcomes and goals
- Demonstrated understanding of current government directions, statutory requirements, particularly Ministerial Order 1359, and the latest research promoting student wellbeing and engagement
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including school leaders, teachers, specialist services and community organisations to influence change and manage complex issues
- Sound knowledge of the key principles underpinning Critical Incident Management, supported by evidence of operational capability in providing timely and effective responses
