**About the opportunity**

Dawes seeks a Motor Underwriter to become an essential member of a high-performing team. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will assist leading the profitable growth of a Prestige Motor Insurance agency via our Broker partners.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Underwrite motor policies and determine effective pricing/policy negotiation
- Manage Renewals, Endorsements, and New Business opportunities to attain financial targets
- Maintain and exceed service level standards
- Follow best practices and uphold ethical and regulatory standards across the agency. Adhere to underwriting guidelines and target market determination.
- Liaise with brokers and business partners at company functions and Industry events.
- Have involvement in the Underwriter audit process

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience within Insurance in Underwriting/Broking/Motor Claims
- Industry qualifications (minimum tier 2) or comparable industry experience
- Strong customer service focus with experience in intermediated distribution channels desirable
- Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills
- A strong customer service focus.
- A willingness to learn and to use your own initiative.
- An ability to foster strong Broker/Market relationships
- Able to make intelligent and innovative business decisions with an appreciation and understanding of legal and regulatory guidelines
- A data-driven mindset to uncover patterns, ask insightful questions, and transform information into meaningful actions to drive success
