The Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR) at the University of Adelaide is a world class multi-disciplinary research centre that seeks to reduce the injury and economic burden of road crashes. Core activities include crash investigation, vehicle testing, data analysis, modelling and evaluation. The Centre provides opportunities that are both interesting and challenging, and allows individuals to contribute to work that can lead to profound impacts on communities. CASR is currently seeking a person with expertise in manipulating and analysing large datasets for research purposes.

We are seeking to appoint a research officer to join our at-scene in-depth crash investigation team. You will be involved in travelling to the scene of crashes that occur within 100km of Adelaide and performing a thorough forensic investigation of the crash scene and vehicles. You will also schedule and conduct interviews with crash participants. Opportunities will also exist for involvement in CASR’s wider research program.

**To be successful, you will need**:

- Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated reliability with sensitive and confidential matters.
- Ability to use initiative and judgement, instigate and undertake tasks with minimum supervision and work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and written communication skills, with experience interacting with members of the public on sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.

This position requires a valid National Police Check.
