**About the role**

Our client is a rapidly growing small cap property development business who are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the team. As CFO you will take ownership over the day to day running of the finance team as well as being part of the leadership team providing commercial and strategic acumen.

This is a newly created role and a key hire, the person will be focused on improving processes, procedures as well as other internal projects, whilst driving the business on their journey ahead.

**The responsibilities**
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

- Lead and oversee the Finance team through periodical reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve company goals.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis process including budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for the company operations.
- Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions inclusive of bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Preparation and management of all Tax inclusive of BAS, IAS, and Payroll Tax.
- Manage and oversee Accounts Payables, Receivables and Billings.
- Preparation of management reports and analysis
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with investors and financial institutions.
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and advise on potential investments and business opportunities.
- Prepare construction and development project reports to Project Management team
- Partner with the COO to procure debt facilities as required and play an active role in loan closing and ongoing management.
- Working closely with the COO, to provide input and recommendations into capital raising initiatives including obtaining a wholesale AFSL licence.
- Responsible for formal financial reporting to Property Investors and Partners across portfolio of investments.
- Assist with regular monitoring of cash flow performance on development projects.
- Preparation of equity capital calls and drawdown notices (where a debt facility is in place)
- Meet ad-hoc requests for information from business users by analysing and understanding the requests and extracting the appropriate data.
- Working with external Accountants in relation to lodgements with the ATO and generally managing the tax affairs of the group.

**The successful applicant**

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following:
CA / CPA qualified, you will possess proven experience within property or construction and are able to demonstrate the ability to work in both a hands-on and strategic capacity. Seeking a new challenge you will focus on leading the day-to-day finance operations as well as partnering with the ELT and Board to deliver agreed business objectives. Previous experience capital and funds management is advantageous. Further, you will be a passionate leader of people from a nurturing, development, and communication perspective.
