Join our dynamic Capital and Investments team as the Manager, Fixed Interest. This role plays a pivotal part in managing relationships with Investment Managers and overseeing the ongoing management of designated asset class portfolios.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing investment manager configurations, with a focus on achieving alpha targets while navigating the complexities of risk management in today’s evolving investment landscape. You'll be instrumental in responding to the diverse investment needs of our customers across Australia and New Zealand, particularly in areas such as liability-driven investing and ESG considerations.

**What you’ll do**- For designated asset class portfolios (including Fixed Interest), as required to implement the Group’s strategic asset allocations under the responsibility of Capital and Investments;
- Proactively manage Investment Manager relationship and investment risks associated with portfolios;
- Determine Investment Manager research, strategy and selection advice based on ongoing manager investment due diligence and qualitative and quantitative analysis, with regard to the manager oversight governance process;
- Manage the review and negotiation of Investment Manager mandate rules, restrictions and management fees to deliver continuous improvement in parameters and leverage the group’s asset scale;
- Collaborate with the Investment Strategy team to ensure the Group’s desired liability-driven investing, capital and liquidity characteristics are embedded in fixed interest portfolio exposures;
- Research new methods, strategies and tools that can contribute to the risk and return objectives;
- Formulate effective formal and informal stakeholder engagement based on Investment Manager, investment and portfolio analysis which is timely, thorough and concise
- Support research, selection and strategy advice and ongoing portfolio management of other asset class portfolios to implement the Group’s strategic asset allocations under the responsibility of Capital and Investments, provide continuity of management for all other asset class portfolios where required

**What you’ll bring**
- Undergraduate degree covering at least one of the following areas: accounting, finance, investments, economics or actuarial studies Desired
- Chartered Financial Analyst qualification and/or post graduate finance degree Desired
- Experience (minimum type and level of experience required to perform the role)
- 7+ years financial services experience (mandatory).
- A combination of theoretical and practical experience (3+ years) reviewing, selecting and managing managers (mandatory).
- A fund management background incorporating direct investment management experience is desirable although not essential.
- Insurance-related investment experience desired although not essential.
