Associate - Fixed Income and Interest Rate Operations

CommBank’s Market Operations team is looking for an Associate to join Global Markets Operations function within the Derivatives and Securities Operations team. This team provides real time operational support to the Global trading desks, while working across different time zones to support our trading desks and valued clients.

**The Role.**
You will provide operational support to our Global Markets business by processing the Trade validating & settlement of Fixed Income products including but not limited to; Corporate and Government Bonds, Discount Securities, Securities Financing transactions and collateral.

You will utilise extensive product knowledge and will partner with and collaborate with Sales and Trading teams to promptly resolve operational issues to completely manage trade lifecycle events including corporate actions.

You will perform manual payments and manual fee calculations and complete the settlement of CBA funding requirements while actively chasing and following-up on unsettled transactions.

**On any given day you will**:

- Settlement and funding of Fixed Income, Securities financing transactions, Triparty Repo and Collateral.
- Action settlement instructions across other products including; Interest rate swap, Cross Currency Swap and Commodities where required
- Perform manual SWIFT entries
- Liaise with a wide spectrum of stakeholders including, Correspondent banks, Clearstream, NZ Clear and Austraclear
- Understand and perform daily reconciliations ensuring all exceptions are followed up/resolved in a timely manner with adequate audit trails.Continuous Improvement of any current or future processes to increase Productivity/ gain processing efficiencies

You will have demonstrable experience within Markets or Markets Operations and be familiar with Fixed Income, Derivative and Commodity products and their general process for settlement. You will also have solid knowledge on Security Finance transactions and will be able to articulate complex situations clearly in order to resolve current or future issues.

You will also have:

- Strong Knowledge of Fixed Income, Derivatives Commodities products and security financing transactions.
- Murex system knowledge will be highly regarded
- Strong SWIFT knowledge
- Experience with effectively managing stakeholders and competing time-lines in order to deliver a high quality support settlement service.Previous experience using Securities Depository and custody portals.
