About the team and role

Part of our independent second line of defence function, Financial Risk and Modelling (FR&M) develops and maintains balance sheet risk frameworks; providing policy direction, setting risk appetite, and delivering independent risk measurement, monitoring, and reporting.,

The Market Risk Modelling Manager will play a key role in the modelling, monitoring, and reporting of interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) exposure, and will:
Have the skills and knowledge required to present and explain the results of risk modelling to Senior Management and relevant committees.
Be self-motivated, delivery-focused and committed to ongoing learning and problem solving.
Be heavily relied upon for IRRBB regulatory reviews, audits (internal and external) and queries (from APRA or other departments in the bank) requiring specialist interest rate risk analysis.
Provide thought-leadership on market risk models, including development and review of assumptions, formulation and development of model change and detailed model testing.
Contribute to broader Financial Risk and Modelling team initiatives.

This role presents an opportunity to drive BEN’s regulatory change agenda, lead risk maturity uplift and gain exposure to senior stakeholders and multiple divisions. We are open to various locations.

Experience, capabilities, and qualifications

Experience in market risk, liquidity risk, treasury, asset and liability management or financial modelling disciplines.
Highly skilled Microsoft Excel user with experience in a wide variety of Excel functions, building complex formulas and the use of multi-sheet and multi-workbook reporting frameworks.
Expertise in model development, management, and enhancement.
Skilled in building highly collaborative, strong working relationships
A strong work ethic with a proven ability to show initiative, manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines.
Relevant Tertiary qualifications and related professional qualification/membership
